Squid as GNU software...

Hi folks,

I know that Duane has been considering placing Squid under the umbrella
of GNU and the FSF in some near future version (with a lot of good
reasons for doing so). But, something worth considering is the comments
in the release notes of the latest glibc by the glibc maintainer
regarding a hostile "takeover attempt" by RMS.

Something to think about, perhaps:

Scroll on down to the "And now for some not so nice things" section.

Anyway, just saw this mentioned on Slashdot and thought it might be of
interest to Squid developers, particularly since FSF/GNU is in Squid's
future. Sounds like there is potential for ugliness if RMS disagrees
with a developer.
