Nothing I'm aware of. Have FreeBSD 2.2-970427-RELENG
on Intel XXpress P166 serving about 50 /24 IP networks,
with zero problems and rock stable uptime.

(Be careful with FreeBSD 2.2.1 and Adaptec PCI SCSI
controllers: there was a minor, but dangerous problem
with new ahc driver in 2.2.1 release, which is fixed ideally
        in 2.2.2-RELEASE). I'd say -- FreeBSD _is_ a great
network server, and for Squid too.

Best regards,
Andrew Stesin
