Problem with starting squid

Hi!

I compiled and tried to run squid on a Linux 2.2.5-15 box.
The cache_dir was set to /home/cache 100 16 256
I made home rwxrwxrwx.

Yet i get this error

FATAL: Unknown cache_dir type '/home/cache'

Squid Cache (Version 2.3.DEVEL2): Terminated abnormally.

Maximum Resident Size: 0 KB
Page faults with physical i/o: 160

What does it mean?? What should i do?
