First make sure your build is a clean one..

  make distclean
  ./configure ...
  make install

If the problem persists, then see the Squid FAQ on how to get a stacktrace,
and register the bug in the Squid bugzilla database.

Also make sure you have up to date libc etc..

Btw, you do not tell what OS you are running on. async-io is only supported
for Linux and Solaris platforms.. by design it cannot work proper on FreeBSD
etc.. (but it should not segfault..)
