Squid dnsserver unsets resolver flags RES_DEFNAMES (search in
default domain for names not including a dot) and RES_DNSRCH (search in
parent domainS for names not ENDNING IN a dot). The default is to have
both of these options set on.
If you call dnsserver with the -D argument (ie. dns_defnames on in
squid.conf), then it sets RES_DEFNAMES on again but not RES_DNSRCH.
It would be really nice to have the Squid dnsserver behave like other
servers and look in parent domains if the request doesn't end in a dot.
Is there some good reason why it doesn't do this?
