That doesn't matter. You set it up to try different proxy addresses
within its rules: the proxy config file allows 'fallback' hosts,
something you can't do with a normal configuration.
(MS IE is adding this functionality slowly, but it only seems to be
present in the Windows 3.1 version at the moment)
I believe someone else used to run a Squid with a second set of swap
directories, on a different port, and switch them over by changing
configs and then signalling with a HUP. This would be easier (I
experimented with the idea), if Squid didn't do a lot of (seemingly)
unnecessary work when asked to reload its config file.
