Operation already in progress

Recently we get the following error for a lot of failed operations,
most of the timeouts. Any idea why this error is printed instead of
the real error?

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://paladin.acs.umbc.edu/src

The following error was encountered:

      Connection Failed

The system returned:

    (114) Operation already in progress

This means that:

    The remote site or server may be down. Please try again soon.
