Hi all,
While investigating why I was running out of FDs I discovered that one of
our sites (the network 193.190.145.0) was consuming most of them. In the
cachemgr they show up like this:
154 Socket 61 0 193.190.145.59.1633 193.190.145.0
155 Socket 49 0 193.190.145.54.2449 193.190.145.0
156 Socket 107 0 193.190.145.226.1861 193.190.145.0
157 Socket 117 0 193.190.145.56.3175 193.190.145.0
158 Socket 69 0 193.190.145.226.1763 193.190.145.0
159 Socket 66 0 193.190.145.52.1166 193.190.145.0
160 Socket 27 0 193.190.145.58.1963 193.190.145.0
161 Socket 77 0 193.190.145.48.1285 193.190.145.0
162 Socket 15 0 193.190.145.63.1789 193.190.145.0
163 Socket 111 0 193.190.145.55.1712 193.190.145.0
164 Socket 102 0 193.190.3.1.3193 http://morello.wildnet.co.uk/
...
...
I'm used to seeing entries like FD 164 but what's with the other ones?
netstat gives:

... (there are several hundreds of them)
It seems like they open a TCP connection but never use it. The connections
appear to stay established until TCP eventually times out.
The site uses Netscape 3 on NT to access our proxy (squid-1.1.15 on
Solaris).
Anyone seen something similar?
