OK, I finally used by brains more heavily and figured out the problem.
We have a quite long url_regex type of file which works just fine under
Solaris 2.5.1 and Squid-1.1.20. However, when the OS is upgraded to Sol 2.6,
the regexp-type of list starts to eat so much CPU power that the Squid proxy
becomes unusable.
I really don't get it! Every single configuration file is exactly the same under
both OS's and still 2.5.1 works great while 2.6 doesn't perform well at all.
Anyway, I solved the problem for now by changing the type of the file to 'dstdomain'.
Thank you very much for your help.
