Squid 1.2beta16 cache announcement (lack of)

Hi,

I've got the following in the my squid.conf for 1.2beta16:

  announce_period 12 hours
  announce_host cache-announce.ericsson.se
  announce_port 3131
  announce_file /usr/local/squid-1.2/etc/info

However, it doesn't make any announcements. No packets received
on my receiving server and, more importantly, no "Sending Announcement"
lines in the log files.

The ChangeLog for 1.2beta18 doesn't show any changes related to
this issue (as far as I can see).

Anyone know what the problem is ?

I just noticed that there's no caches for 1.2betaX listed here either:

  http://ircache.nlanr.net/Cache/Tracker/caches/

or is that just a coincidence :-)
