Does ldap_auth probe for the Novell LDAP Server on the LAN or does it need
to be configured to know where to find the Service?

which it refers to. There is two different LDAP authenticators.

It would be nice if one of the authors puts his code under a GPL so it
can be included in the main distribution. Currently the licensing status
of both versions is unknown...

Request to everyone who write code: Clarly state the copyright and
license in the source. Without it the code is close to useless to anyone
else.
