Hi!
I'm installing Squid 2.2ST3 on my new Slackware 4.0 box. I'm running the
kernel 2.2.6 recompiled.
When I'm running ./configure it says:
checking Default FD_SETSIZE value... 256
checking Maximum number of filedescriptors we can open... 256
WARNING: 256 may not be enough filedescriptors if your
cache will be very busy. Please see the FAQ page
http://squid.nlanr.net/Squid/FAQ/FAQ-11.html#filedescriptors
on how to increase your filedescriptor limit
And when I check the faq, it tells me to check the files, and so I do.
squid:/proc/sys/fs# more file-max
4096
squid:/proc/sys/fs# more inode-max
12288
So, where's the problem? Is it configure that "lies" or have I missed
something. The Filedescriptor's patch is only for 2.0.x kernels? or ?
Thanks!
