As far as I know, LFS is dead/flawed and isn't properly supported in *BSD
According to Marshall Kirk Mckusick, his soft-updates stuff for *BSD (will
also be incorporated into Solaris) makes FFS perform in many ways
equivalently to a journaling file system. (asyncronous metainfo updates,
fast recovery)
