Fwd: 17k selects/s with 0hit/s ?

Hi,

I've tested my ofs4.0f box for Squid CPU usage during no network
activity.

With network down I have 30% CPU usage and tons of selects per second.
Same with select and poll. GCC complied SQUID uses 50% CPU.

What is SQUID doing when it's IDLE ?

Right now I can't do a lot of tests but debug ALL,9 during 0 network
activity makes some 5MB/s of:

comm_select: time out: XYZ
comm_select: 0 FDs ready at XYZ
