Running out of inodes

Hi all

I am using squid Version 2.2.STABLE3
I keep running out of inodes and squid crashes over and over again.
I saw a message in this list about this problem . I followed that and made
this change:

in defines.h, change
#define USE_TRUNCATE_NOT_UNLINK 1
to
#define USE_TRUNCATE_NOT_UNLINK 0

I am still running out of inodes.
Please help.
