Hello all!
I'm running Squid 2.2.S3 on a RedHat 5.2 (o.s. has all
recommended "updates", squid is "out of the box" recompiled
from sources from primary Squid site).
Squid runs from user "squid", group "squid" by RunCache and
configuration is standard: bare squid.conf.default, with
authentication and some url_regex added to allow access to
some sites without authentication.
When users access an https (ssl) site, I see the following
lines in cache.log - approx. 3000 log lines (!) for a single
https site access, logged in 4 / 5 seconds:
= cache.log ===========================
1999/07/02 10:26:01| sslWriteServer: FD 21: write failure:
(11) Resource temporarily unavailable.
1999/07/02 10:26:01| sslWriteServer: FD 21: write failure:
(11) Resource temporarily unavailable.
=======================================
Access to https site is ok, and all pages are displayed
correctly, connection runs in secure mode and clients
receive all pages apparently with no problem.
Squid2 box is a "parent" cache and reaches the net through
a socks5 server. It's quite fast and fully operative: I had
some unexpected crashes and memory leaks, but they seem
related to authentication mechanism than to this specific
problem.
Everything works well through socks5 and so I suspect some
ssl related squid2 problems: Squid 1.1.x worked well with
ssl sites, except when used in authenticated proxy-chains
(this was a known problem and I fixed it changing "sibling"
configuration files).
Unfortunately, I don't know how to fix this problem: may
someone help me ?
Thank you in advance and greetings from Italy!
Alessandro
