It wouldn't help in this case, if, as I suspect, port 82
hasn't been assigned yet, as it must be considered unsafe
until proven safe.
In any case, "permit only what is allowed" is a fairly common
firewall configuration policy. Moreover, a lot of people
are now setting up firewalls without adequate technical
knowledge, and if given an open configuration are unlikely
to close it down properly.
