        Access cacheable sites. Many web pages are uncacheable,
        through ignorance or for commercial reasons. In this case,
        your parent will not cache them either. Also make sure that
        you understand the difference between revalidation and fetching.

        NB trying to change the behaviour (other than by educating the
        content providers) without a thorough understanding of the
        protocol and how it is used and abused, tends to result in
        mis-operation, including returning confidential data to the

        Please supply examples of publically available URLs (no
        cookies or login required) which you think should be
        cacheable, but are not.

        I use common log file format, but I thought that you
        did get client IPs in the native format; servers are
        accessed by name, and IPs are meaningless when you have
        a parent.
