Receiving segment violation - would like a trace

Greetings,

I receiving a segment violation in squid 2.3STABLE3 with the patches applied
under RedHat Linux 6.1. While the uptime of squid varies greatly, evidence
indicates that it is failing in a fairly predictable manner.

I'm fairly new to the Linux world. Can anyone suggest a way to obtain a
stack trace?
The failure is strongly correlated to: WARNING: Closing open FD 14.
(Always FD 14 which is curious.) Has anyone had similar experiences?
