I see it's still nessecary to up __FD_SETSIZE, though that should
not be needed anymore with --enable-poll. Are you working on cleaning
up the squid code so that that change won't be needed in the
future anymore ?

Also, perhaps setting the ulimit and defining the max# of fds
should be something that could be done through /etc/squid.conf ?
