1- Increasing cache_mem, you can get more "hot object" from memory..For
furher information see Memory section into FAQ.
2- I have cache hit about %40 on two cache server. This value is acceptable.
The average is bettween %30-50..
3- Add more memory and cache disk to your server (If possible it should be
SCSI). Use heap based cache replacement policy instead of linked..Also you
can change refresh_pattern option to increase cache hit. But you can get
some object not fresh..

Konu: [SQU] Tune up Squid Cache Hit
Folks,
I knew that my topic has recently discussed before. However, I hope you will
give me comment and suggestion. My Squid seemed running very well as
transparent proxy now. I also can control it's log growth.
Now, I want to know about CACHE HIT improvement. I set my cache_mem at 128
MB and 3 GB of cache size.
My questions are:
1. I assume that increasing cache mem and cache size will also improve my
cache hit. Am I correct?
2. What is the default of percentage of "good" cache hit?
3. How can I increase the cache hit? (Please don't tell me to upgrade
bandwidth)
Your comment and answer is very appreciated.
Best Regards,
Awie
