YES, it is possible...
Here you'll find the settings for squid.conf:
http://squid.visolve.com/squid24s1/httpd_accelerator.htm

and you'll need some redirection like:
iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -s $your_lan -i $your_int_eth -p tcp --dport
80 -j REDIRECT --to-port $squid_port
or the equivalent to whatever system you're running. (iptables for kernel
2.2 or whatever it is on *BSD)

iam planning to configure a linux machine as gateway using IPMASQ.
I want o setup squid on that same machine connected to the internet
Is this possible -> yes/no
as special requirement or do i need separate machine for setting it up
