Quite many, depending on which authentication scheme you want to use.

For basic authentication (username+password) there is I think 5
different approaches for NT Domain integration.

For NTLM authentication (integrated logon for users logged on to the
domain and using MSIE browsers) there is two different (or three if
counting the "fake" one that only asks the browser to provide the
username without any verification).

The winbind helpers is currently recommended for both basic and NTLM
authentication.

Documentation on how to set up user authentication and installation of
winbind can be found in the FAQ.

For group integration there is two different winbind based helpers that
can be used for NT Domain integration.. The winbind_group helper
(wb_group) recommended (the wbinfo_group helper is mostly an example).
Documentation can be found in helpers/winbind_group/readme.txt

Henrik
