The developers had a discussion on this the other day, and Squid-2.6 and
later will only allocate a smaller stack per I/O thread saving a bit of
VM if you have lots of threads.
But it is also true that there is no benefit in having very many I/O
threads. Generally the default where you have not specified anything to
configure is quite good.
More is not better here.. and neither is having too few.
