fakeauth is probably a bit broken. It has only very limited knowledge of
Microsoft NTLMSSP packet format and quite likely decodes it wrongly in
many situations..

The use of Samba ntlm_auth for NTLM authentication is strongly
recommended. The Samba NTLMSSP implementation is far more complete.
