FD 28 Broken pipe

I've got a curious problem to which I could not find a reference in the
FAQ.

In the log I get the following error over and over:

1998/05/20 19:52:10| diskHandleWrite: FD 28: disk write error: (32) Broken
pipe
1998/05/20 19:52:20| diskHandleWrite: FD 28: disk write error: (32) Broken
pipe
1998/05/20 19:53:20| diskHandleWrite: FD 28: disk write error: (32) Broken
pipe
1998/05/20 19:54:30| diskHandleWrite: FD 28: disk write error: (32) Broken
pipe

The disk itself is ok, as is the controller.
It is always FD 28. Today for the first time I got another variation:

I'm quite new to Squid and would much appreciate any pointer.

OS Solaris 2.6
HW Sun SparcStation 5
SW Squid-1.1.20
cache 16x16 directories

Cheers,
