I had this problem too but after I switch from advfs to ufs on my Digital
Unix box, it disappeared. I'm not sure if it is involved.

Running on ufs make me worry when the machine is crash and how long fsck
will take (it is 20 GB RAID disk).
But anybody run squid on other file systems than ufs on Digital Unix box?
